Gladys Mezrahi was educated at The English School in Bogotá, Colombia
and University of Miami, in Miami, Florida, where she studied International
Finance and Marketing. Her career started at a very young age in Colombia
when she founded a top-line skin and body products manufacturing
company called Advanced Cosmetics. Gladys oversaw this successful
business for 15 years, and then sold it to an international skincare
corporation. As part of her belief in 'giving back' to her community, Gladys
helped several non-profit organizations such as Jafco, Wizo, Nawbo, Owit
among others to raise funds through unique events, as well as serving on
the Directors Council of her children's school, Colegio Nueva Granada
where she created several programs dedicated to helping teenagers
remain drug-free.
Following the sale of her cosmetic firm, with a successful marketing
strategy that she brought to Pioneer International, an international
investment company she created seminars and workshops as part of a
marketing and education outreach for the financial industry. Her passion
and talent for her successful "Marketing Through Events" concept was the
beginning of a new company, G & G Events, that later became Indigo
Events as she made her office as well as her home into Aventura,
since1999.
Today, Gladys is President/CEO of Indigo Events, an international events
company with clients such as Visa, The Related Group of Florida, The
Museum of Modern Art in Colombia, H & M Developers, Florida Grand
Opera, Avianca, Fortune International, El Tiempo, Organization of America
States - OEA, Miami International Book Fair, Disney Institute and Komatsu
International among others. Co-founder of the B2E educational seminar
program, and founder of The Power of the Heels Foundation creating a
social change by disrupting the poverty cycle for the betterment of the
society by educating and empowering young girls and women so they can
become a financial force.
"Giving back" is still part of Gladys' dedication to her community in which
she lives and works. Gladys served as the City of Aventura Vice-Mayor and
is an active member of the Chairman's Roundtable of the Aventura
Marketing Council a World-Class Chamber of Commerce and a mentor for
Women of Tomorrow.
Gladys has been featured in The Miami Herald and was recognized as one
of the 2016 International Business Women of the Year by the Organization
of Women in Trade and an award-winning author of "More Wow and Less
Oops"
Through all the awards and recognitions, Gladys considers her greatest
accomplishment to be raising two wonderful children, Debbie and Nessim
and 5 wonderful grandchildren with her husband Samuel of 40 years
